new flash!!! books open!!
hey y’all! been a busy last month—dollface (my current studio) recently moved spaces and got a major upgrade. we are still located in east williamsburg, but we’re now located off the Morgan L, have beautiful hardwood floors, a private bathroom & high powered a/c 😍 i truly can’t wait to share this new space with everyone who passes through! we’ll be hosting a studio flash day or two which will be held at some point in september. be sure to stay up to date through the studio instagram for more updates on exact dates & times!
i’ve been so so eager to share this new flash with y’all—very excited to see the ideas everyone has for placements and existing tattoo interactions (blastover/blastunders), which i feel like these designs will be great for. hopefully conveyed thru the drawings themselves, these designs are meant do be done with black and gray ink to emphasize their shapes, creating more dynamic movement through the designs and on the body. these are very customizable to fit the spot you might need, and we can switch out the black/gray shading as needed.
here’s an example of one of these designs tattooed on skin, the photo below is the tattoo 4 days settled—the two center pieces are done in black and the top & bottom pieces in gray. the gray pieces will soften up even more over the rest of the healing process (3-4 more weeks) & the black pieces will darken, to create a really beautiful contrast throughout the design. hopefully you can get an idea of how this idea translates onto skin through all these images.
ok so i’ve decided that word of the month will be no more. instead, every month newsletter subscribers will get two days to submit their forms before regular booking opens on the 15th. the forms submitted during the 13th-15th of every month will be prioritized considering their availability & flash choices. this seems a bit more straightforward and should be more clear to me by the date when your form was submitted.
